Ok. I started to respond to this at 9am. It’s now 9pm and I totally lost what I was going to say. It was something about chronological age versus internal age. Can’t remember where I was going with it now, though.

Why even comment at all? Because my two year old is in the “why?” stage and I needed to do something quasi adult before I snapped and made a serious plan to go on a postal rampage. And your posts make me think like an adult. So, thanks for that!

Nah, it’s okay. Time to let it go. There’s always a next year in baseball, which is one of the things I love best about it. There’s not a single metaphor about baseball that you can’t apply to life in general.

Let me know if you need me to knock on your brother’s door, Mandy; I’m not that far away.

They’re still the NL Champions! (And I’m told the t-shirts that say that are on sale at Dick’s for $5.)

I don’t have the luxury of being torn. My Phils lost! I’m heart broken. I still haven’t heard from my brother (who lives in Audubon). I’m afraid he may have done himself a harm or went on a shooting spree! lol

I’m definitely a conspiracy theorist. Any straw that I can clutch to yell, “FIX!” to get the Phillies back in I will take!

Yo, guess who’s got at least two or three balls of magic stripes sitting in my basement? i was hanging onto them because they’re so pretty but … i guess they deserve a chance to cling to someone’s (smelly?) feet.
Also, passing up chocolate cake? i know what those words mean but the idea makes no sense. On my latest sono you could actually see the little twix bars floating around.

Hi Carla! I met you at the hotel bar on Friday night. Here I am stalking you on the internet now. Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.

I have to agree with you (about so many things in your post). I learned so much at the workshops over the weekend that I need to overhaul all my wips. Ignorance really is bliss. And a lot less work.

I’m right there with you on the women need time idea, too. You said it so well that we’re busy being who the people in our lives need us to be that we don’t have time to be us. It was a nice change not to have klingons wrapped around my legs for two days. I’m raising parasites in training.

I’m also extremely impressed that you passed on that chocolate cake. You are a better woman than I!

Glad I got to meet you this weekend and GO PHILLIES!!!!

You’re right, I think what you said in full was more like, “Who wants to go to a writing blog and read about knitting?” (Uh, me?) I get the jist of it; if the blog is to be about writing, it should stick to the topic, but since mine has a little of everything these days, that’s okay too.

So do you have a blog about those 3 things, and where do I sign up?

Why I put up with you? Please! I was afraid my snoring would keep you awake. And Saturday’s dinner wasn’t all that bad; we can laugh about it now, after the fact. (Can’t complain too loudly about a free dinner.) And Alejandro was charming in his own fresh-from-the-diapers way, even if he made me feel like a cougar.

Thank you for the mocha on Sunday! It got me all the way home. I may be able to live without candy–Saturday will be the supreme test–but I *can’t* live without coffee.

I never said, “Who wants to read a blog about knitting?” Those are some of my favorite blogs!! I said that your blog posts need to be on-target with your message and the audience you’re writing for. In my case, that would be, “Who is going to read a blog about knitting and designing websites and writing romance novels?” I’m thinking that’s a realllllllllllly small audience. (Frankly, I have no idea why you put up with me, but I’m grateful all the same!!) This isn’t a writing-only blog, so go ahead and talk about your knitting!

It was an awesome weekend, even with dinner on Saturday. (But you’re right– there’s a story in there somewhere!) I’m still tired and worn out, but it’s a happy worn-out.

You were SO good about candy this weekend. I’m so proud of you!!

Hello Carla,

I just googled Willy Hakim’s name to see if he had a web page and your blog link appeared, with my name mentioned right next to Willy’s. Those were special times in Mr Laurenzano’s band, and I remember them as fondly as you do. Larry Laurenzano influenced many great musicians during his teaching career, including Jon Gordon, who is a highly respected Jazz saxophonist. Just thought I would take the time to say hello.
